Don’t underestimate the importance your project description. When perspective Fuelers arrive at your project page, they will need to understand what you are doing and why. Giving them too little information can leave them skeptical, but overwhelming them with too much detail can bore them. The best project descriptions will succinctly and clearly summarize the project, while incorporating the following elements:
1. Welcome
2. Call to action
3. What and why
4. How the money will be used
5. Disclaimers
6. Thank you

#1 – Welcome: Start by thanking folks for coming to your project page. It’s just a nice thing to do and a good way to start the conversation.

#2 – Call to action: Tell people what you want them to do! They may not read your whole description, so don’t save it ’til the end. Tell them they can help but contribution financially (and choosing a reward) AND by spreading the word to their friends and network!

#3 – What and why: This will be the meat of your project description. Tell us what you are up to, and why it is important. If you can explain the “why” clearly, you’ll win more Fuelers.

#4 – How the money will be used: No need to include a super detailed budget, but give some information on how the money will be spent. This information will help Fuelers trust you. It proves that you have plan.

#5 – Disclaimers: It’s important to explain that RocketHub is neither an investment nor a charity. It is an exchange – Rewards for RocketFuel. Trade, not aid.

#6 – Thank you: If they have read the entire thing, they deserve your thanks. It means they are curious about your project. Encourage them to leave a comment or ask you a question. Get them involved!
