The Community for Creative Crowdfunding

This is a tricky topic to address - but what happens when you launch a project, run a campaign, get good results, but still fall far from your overall campaign goal? Let's call this shortage "the Gap".

Here are two ideas to address "the Gap":
  1. Adjust your current project goal and repost the project
  2. Create a new project and post it
Consider these questions:
  1. How could I redesign my current project to be more successful?
  2. What lessons have I learned along the way?
  3. Which tactics worked, and which didn’t?
  4. What did I plan to do, and never execute?
  5. Is there another project that inspires me?
If you have a current project that has gotten some traction (i.e. some funds have come in) - but you are still far from your target goal, consider reposting a scaled down version of the project.

The specific steps for a project re-post are:
  1. Reach out to your current Fuelers and let them know you plan on re-posting a project if you don't hit your current goal. You can do this in the "recent conversations" tab on your RocketHub project page
  2. Let your project time out
  3. Immediately post a "new and improved project" after current project times out
  4. Reach out to Fuelers of your CURRENT project - with link to NEW project asking them to re-apply their RocketFuel. Let them know this is easy to do and that they don't have to run any credit card transactions - just simply hit "FUEL THIS PROJECT" with RocketFuel they already purchased the first time around.
Several Creatives on RocketHub have experienced "the Gap" and found success the 2nd time around after reposting their project. As the old saying goes - if first you don't succeed, try and try again.

Even Woody Allen once wrote, “If you're not failing every now and again, it's a sign you're not doing anything very innovative.”
